While working at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh, I took part in a RBG student tour of the greenhouses and herbarium. One of the highlights was climbing to the top of the old palmhouse where you can see breathtaking views of the city and gardens below. It is too dangerous to allow the general public on top of the glasshouses, so it was nice to get this seldom seen view of Edinburgh. Another highlight was the tour through the herbarium, where I was allowed to peruse the historic collections of George Forrest, EH Wilson, and Charles Darwin. Plant nerd heaven!
